Monday started out like most other Mondays. I had to finish writing my press release. That took me right up to lunchtime. We went to Daddy Donkey for lunch again and tried out a new burrito. I think it’s hilarious how much Patrick likes burritos. I almost fell twice while walking because I was wearing my healed boots and the roads are so uneven. I don’t know how anyone can where heals in London gracefully. After lunch I made a call to Michael in Newcastle to check some facts and get a quote for the press release then I debriefed Patrick on the Social Media workshop. My next goal is to find implement our new social media strategy. I am to find 50 new and relevant people to follow and put us in all the best directories. That took me right up until the end of the day.
Tuesday was much the same. My task for the day was to make a journalist précis of a thought leadership piece that tdg was trying to get published. It took up to lunchtime with all the revisions. I probably wrote 3 drafts before I turned in the final piece. Patrick, Suni and myself popped into the Clerkenwell Kitchen for lunch. I tried the red wine risotto. It was my first ever risotto and I quite liked it. They were very curious to know about the American institution of Greek secret societies, so I enlightened them as well I could. It was fun to see their reactions. I could tell they thought the whole practice was a bit odd. We continued talking about what I did last weekend and what I was up to this coming weekend. They thought the idea of a Ghost walk was fun. I also learned the word “numpty” and how it apparently means that a person is useless and stupid. I hope to never be called a numpty. It doesn’t quite sound like a nasty insult but when you think of the meaning it really can be considered one. We ended the day by analyzing the most recent designs that were to be shown to client later that week. I love seeing the progression of the artwork. It’s like I am nursing it from infancy.
The picture I presented on! Pretty right?
Wednesday was class as usual. We stayed in for advertising and went through some case studies. In Art I had to present on a painting. It’s the Vesuvius in eruption by Joseph Wright of Derby. It went really well. I think it’s safe to say I got full marks.
On Thursday we made it to class early. We were given a new assignment for BES to eat an Indian meal and experience the infamous Brick Lane. Contemporary British Culture followed and we talked all about the Monarchy and whether or not it’s going to last. I hope it does because some girl out there has to have the opportunity to marry a prince, geesh.
Friday was a big day so it deserves a post of it’s own. Let’s just say that it was… magical (hint hint, wink wink). Catch you soon.
Pip Pip Cheerio!
That is a cool painting.
ReplyDeleteI've got a long list of some American to British sayings if you are interested. Just let me know.
